The series was written with children aged 8 and up in mind because its metaphors and characters are accessible to young readers. At the same time, it’s layered with themes such as identity, empathy and personal growth, that invite deeper discussion. Adults often tell me they enjoy reading it alongside their children; the universality of the questions it raises transcends age.

Each tale in the series touches on timeless lessons: the search for purpose and identity, our interconnectedness with one another and the natural world, resilience and renewal, the cycles of life, and gratitude for our nurturers. These themes shaped my own healing journey, and writing about them felt like weaving golden threads that could help young readers (and their families) reflect on their own growth.

The “golden threads” symbolise the connections between our experiences and the wisdom we gather along the way. Just as a tree’s roots and branches link it to the wider forest, our stories and values are woven together by unseen threads. Using this imagery, I hoped to encourage children to see themselves as part of something bigger and to realise that every act of kindness, resilience or learning becomes part of their own tapestry of growth.

Music has always been a companion in my writing, so I’ve created original soundscapes to complement the books and, through the site’s newsletter, described as “a quiet space for readers and listeners who want to walk deeper into the journey”.

I share unreleased chapters, music and inspirations every month. These tracks are produced with the same intention as the books: to invite reflection and spark imagination. Subscribers receive links to listen, and we occasionally feature them on the Music & Soundtrack page.

Yes. We currently have three released titles: The Tree That Found Its Roots (exploring self‑discovery and identity), Journey to Oja (decision‑making), and Night in a Wood Cabin (embracing uncertainty).

Each book pairs a rich story with its own soundtrack and theme. Looking ahead, we’re working on several new tales: Sefu’s Garden, a story about delaying gratification, continues from Journey to Oja, deepening the brothers’ adventures and examining patience and perseverance; An Imperfect Day, exploring how to find meaning in our work; and A Merchant’s Tale, a reflection on balancing ambition with purpose.

We’re also creating a poetic version of ‘The Tree That Found Its Roots’ for readers ages 3 and up, using simple rhythms and imagery to introduce younger children to the same timeless lessons. Stay tuned via our newsletter and social channels for release dates and sneak peeks — there’s much more to come!
