Journey to Ọjà – Synopsis
In the heart of a West African village, two brothers step onto a path that will challenge not only their courage but the traditions they carry within them. Sefu, the younger, is restless and curious; Jabari, the elder, is steady and protective. Together, under their father’s guidance, they set out through sacred forests, distant villages, and the bustling marketplace of Ọjà.
Along the way, they encounter symbols of power and resilience—the mystical Iroko tree, the vibrant life of the market, and the voices of strangers who test their beliefs. Each encounter pushes them toward difficult choices, forcing them to question where wisdom ends and courage begins.
Journey to Ọjà blends folklore and philosophy into an odyssey that feels at once deeply rooted in Yoruba culture and universal in its themes of self-discovery, family, and resilience.
What makes the tale truly distinctive is its companion score—original compositions that echo the moods and turning points of the journey. Readers are invited to not just read, but to listen, experiencing the story as a woven tapestry of words and music.
